4. Day Kas (Departure to Ankara)

As our flight to Ankara from Antalya did not have a departure time until 10pm, we wanted to see Demre on the way to the Airport, as the runes of the ancient Lycian city of Myra are located there.

After taking the dolmus to Otogar in Kas, we got on the bus to Antalya that stops at Demer Otogar.

There we walked for 20 minutes to Myra, which is very worthwhile because Demer is agricultural and there were fruit trees everywhere.

Myra was already of some importance in the classical era and from the time of Hellenism was one of the six largest cities of the Lycian League.

Myra was a bishop's see early on. From 300 onwards, Nicholas of Myra officiated as bishop.

After the visit, we walked back to the Otogar of Demer and took a bus from there with the same timetable.

From Antalya Otogar, we took line 600, which goes directly to the airport.Läs mer
