Agia Nappa

After the long crossing, we first had to go through passport control and then decided to visit Famagusta (Turkish: Gazimagusa) and have breakfast so that we could regain our energy.

After breakfast we took a taxi across the border to the Republic of Cyprus to reach our destination Agia Nappa.

Fun Fact: Gazi in Turkish means the sacrificing or wounded one. Alluding to the soldiers who took and held the town during the 1974 Turkish occupation.

Famagusta, also known as Gazimağusa, is a city on the east coast of Cyprus. It is known for its well-preserved Venetian city walls from the 15th and 16th centuries, which are now surrounded by a waterless moat. Visitors have a panoramic view from the top of the moat.
