Beauly to Glenshee

Up this morning and off to Culloden Battlegrounds, where the final Jacobite uprising battle took place. Such an important place in Scottish history, with a well presented and compelling exhibition. Then around the corner to the Clava Cairns, a burial ground from around 2000 BC.
Back into the car and off past Perth to Pitlorchy for lunch, then on to Dalmunzie Castle Hotel via Cairngorms National Forest and some amazing country roads and lanes.
The Castle is a privately owned hotel that has its own golf course as well , our room was fantastic a liitle tired but all done out in antique furniture , we had dinner in the hotels restuarant which was really nice.Read more
