Arriving at the Oliver Reginald Tambo International Airport to visit our next destination, Johannesburg, South Africa. This visit gives us a chance to reconnect with friends we have not seen in 14 and 18 years. I guess we have some catching up to do.

    What brought us here?
Our South African-through-Taiwan family. Verity and Sean and Louise all lived in the same city as us in Taiwan. Through many adventures and many beers we managed to keep each other sane and enjoying the Taiwan experience. We have not seen Verity since 2004 at Nicola and Jason’s wedding in England (we visit them later in the trip) and Sean and Louise since 2001 when they boarded a bus to begin their Taiwan departure adventure.

DYK: Johannesburg is the world's largest city not built on a coastline, lake or river. That’s why Joburg is also called the world’s biggest ‘dry port’.
