• Last nights of Portugal

    Sep 11–12, 2024 in Portugal ⋅ ☁️ 24 °C

We spent our last few days enjoying time at our apartment, exploring the city, and sitting by the water.

The exploring easily doubled as a workout given the numerous inclines and stairs. The worst was when we made the wrong choice on the route and both had to descend and the re-ascend - do not give up any elevation gain if you can help it!

We had great success with our last few meals. The first was a multi-course dinner at Emotivo where they had chosen 2 regions of Portugal to highlight, the menu a surprise and determined by choosing a set of toys in a choose your own adventure game! This was hands down some of the best regional food we had, the two regions: Douro and Algarve.

Our last meal was a steakhouse named Muu. It highlighted two new truths we learned this trip: Portuguese steak is arguably better than their seafood (and incredible), their red wines are our new favorite and highly undervalued elsewhere in the world. Amiyah gets the credit for choosing this restaurant and a top candidate for #1 meal of the trip!

We spent the rest of the evening with a few cocktails and a nice sit by the water, watching the night boats and lights on the port. ❤️
