    The Way Up

    June 25, 2021 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

It took 2 days of driving from Calgary to get to Watson Lake. Watson Lake has the signpost forest with something like 150 000 signs from all over the world. We tried to find the sign Anna's Grandparents left 20 years before but to no avail. We camped for a night and continued on to Whitehorse.Read more

  • First day in Whitehorse

    June 28, 2021 in Canada ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

All roads lead to Whitehorse. We spent a day here as we traveled through. Had to cut through Whitehorse multiple because of the way the highways are laid out in the Yukon. Saw the SS Yukon and had some elk meatballs in town. Camped at Lac LaBerge.... gorgeous, gorgeous, but such cold, cold, cold, cold water!!! First photo was taken after midnight!! Unfortunately we didn't get any photos of Lac Laberge, but we do intend to return!Read more

  • Haines Junction

    June 29, 2021 in Canada ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

Stayed at Kathleen Lake campground here, we did some fishing in the lake and Anna caught her first fish! We grilled him up for dinner that night with just butter and salt and cooked over an open fire. Delicious!!Read more

  • Silver City

    July 1, 2021 in Canada ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

What. A. Way. To. Spend. Canada Day. A couple hours from Haines junction is 'Silver City', which despite its name is little more than a couple air hangars, a university research station, and the remains of some Klondike era cabins. We took an air tour up to Mt Logan. It's the tallest mountain in Canada, the largest thing on planet earth by volume, and a f*@#ing sight to behold!!!! We flew up through some fjords and landed in a ski plane on a glacier for some photos and a great view of the mountain. We weren't sure if we were going to do it because of the expense, but we are so, so glad we did. Truly an unforgettable experience.Read more
