Very wet and rainy street down to the cathedral. Hikers and pilgrims arriving all day

The 10th century monastery is home to the museum dedicated to the history and art of the cathedral

The 11th century cathedral is massive inside with high ceilings

The large gold altar at the centre of the cathedral is very ornate and unusual in design

Huge cathedral organ also had ornate decoration

The area around the cathedral was very busy, despite the weather

Today we arrived at the end of the Camino Francés in Santiago de Compostela. We are parked up about a 30 minute walk from the Cathedral.
It has been a very wet day today but the rain eased after lunch and Tim and I headed out to walk to the Cathedral. The area was busy with pilgrims celebrating the conclusion of their walk, a very nice atmosphere.
