Manila VIII

My body was still recovering from the El Nido incident but it was feeling much better. Janelle, Jake and I went to Century City Mall to do an escape room with Mystery Manila while my mom went to do her thing somewhere else but pretty near our place. We went up to book a room and were told to wait for a bit so we went to a nearby coffeeshop that had a European and Japanese themed interior but had OPM playing in the background. I ordered some Jasmine tea while they had their coffee. We went back after and picked the room we were trying out for which was Debby's Doll, an escape room that drew inspiration from Anabelle. Janelle had done this before but they weren't able to escape and it was a long time ago so for most of us this was pretty new. The guy explaining the room to us was quite unprofessional as he had his online class on the whole time so it was kind of ruining the immersion so I told him off and he switch it off. Soon, we were off into the darkness of the room, rummaging through various things to try and find some clues and keys to unlock the next parts of the room. To be honest, we did pretty well and finished the room just in the nick of time, if it weren't for a bunch of faulty locks, we would have made it out even more quickly. After taking a congratulatory photo, we went down to the supermarket to buy some snacks that we were going to bring for the hike to Mt. Pinatubo in the coming days.

When we got back home, Janelle and I went with Jake to the penthouse as he walked Bowie around. Soon it became a bit too hot so we went back down to get ready to go to Manila Hotel where we were going to have a nice buffet. We also planned to catch the sunset as we still haven't gotten the chance to see one and it looked like we were going to get one indeed. When we got to the restaurant, we sat for a bit and ate some food before heading out into the bay area but turns out it was blocked by the buildings further away. We took some hidden path up to the roof tops and made some small parkour to get to the furthest roof we could reach but alas it was still blocked so we went back down to the bay area and relaxed by the soft chairs that could fit two people. We enjoyed the view nevertheless, seeing all the vibrant colors changing and soon disappearing. This was our cue to go back so we returned and enjoyed the rest of the night with amazing food, though I still couldn't eat too much due to my stomach.Read more
