Mt. Otakayama

I invited Nikita to join me for a trip to Ogose to catch the Plum Festival happening at Ogose Plum Grove, one of the three plum forests in all of Kanto. First, we had to climb up Mt. Otakayama. We made our way up towards some stairs which happened to lead to a Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. From there, we went deeper into the forest but not before taking that puff-puff which started to make me much more connected with nature. The hike was a fairly simple one with Nikita having to catch his breath every once in a while but we made good time and soon found ourselves up at the summit with really nice views of the town below. The hike down was also a bit heavy on the knees but it was all well worth it because we found ourselves at the other side of the mountain range, in Ogose the village of plums.Read more
