Back at Mitake Valley's walking trail. I had originally missed this section when I was doing the Okutama walking trail last autumn just because I ran out of daylight. This time around, I was starting at the opposite side from Ikusabata after finishing the Ome Hiking Course and Mt. Raiden.
The views were nothing short of exquisite, with the Tama River flowing beside and the autumn foliage colors still burning strong. This was a time of relaxation and picture-taking after hiking.
One of the best parts of the trail was definitely the huge rocks on the river which were so aesthetically pleasing. The water's color was also mesmerizing, something in between turquoise and crystal blue.
The trail was short around 1 hour, but it was enough. It was especially radiant around golden hour when the sun was hitting just right over the water creating a golden dazzling glow. Near Sawai, there was a temple dedicated to Shakyamuni Buddha, the ceiling was especially impressive. Just outside, the children were ringing the giant bell creating a reverberation heard throughout the valley.
Sawai however was quite crowded with plenty of people deciding to have lunch here so I continued on forward towards Mitake station and the scenery surprisingly got even better. It was a combination of having the looming mountains in front. bigger rocks, and stronger water.
All in all, another beautiful day to remember.Read more
