    After our trip to Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park, our bus made a stop at the Kamakura Igloos which was actually a pop-up restaurant where people were having hot pot inside.

    It was getting dark and with the lights shining onto the white snowy surfaces of the igloos, it seemed to make everything a bit otherworldly, like we were on the moon. It felt like an ethereal dream especially when we got away from the crowds and got lost in the labyrinth of igloos.

    At the end of the area was a peculiar igloo, bigger than the rest which was transformed into a shrine. It was highly photogenic with the crimson torii gate being one of the only bright colors in the whole scene.

    It was getting colder by the minute and our group finally went back to the bus for a long trip to Takayama. It was here during this bus ride that I got to know my seat mate, Dipa, who was also a Hanuman devotee and so we had a lot to talk about throughout the whole ride.
