Black Canyon

Our next stop was the Black Canyon, still part of Charyn Canyon National Park. This time around the canyon cliffsides were indeed black, with the river coursing through in the middle.

This particular spot had fewer tourists and only a few viewing points but it was nothing short of stellar. Our tour guide took us to a secret spot beyond the fence where we could go up a spire for an awesome photo. Even I couldn't resist getting a photo of that caliber.

I bought some snacks for the long road ahead as the final destination of the day, Kolsai Lake, was still a few hours away.Read more
