After a long day visiting the various sites around the south of Lake Issyk-kul, we finally touched down on Karakol. We had a place booked at Caravan Hotel where we were staying the night.
I was roomed with Ayan from Bulgaria, Hiro from Japan, and Mohammed from Malaysia. I guess after a day of traveling, I was slowly warming up to them. It just takes me a while to let people in.
We went to a nice place for dinner, pricey but good stuff. I got some of that shirin, a spicy eggplant dish. Afterwards, we went to the Ak Suu Hot Springs where everyone had a much better time bonding. We took turns going from the hot baths and down to the freezing river. I could outlast anyone all day.
It was the perfect way to end the day. Feeling fully refreshed and healed, just like the Banya experience in Bishkek, it seems like Kyrgyzstan was doing all the work in helping me mend my body back in shape.Read more
