Mt. Akabokko

The Tenguiwa-Akobokko loop was a short day hike I decided to do just to get a couple of more hikes in before summer was in full swing.

I passed through Tama River before arriving at the trailhead, I remember my mood was still a bit down that day. The hike was gentle and easy, being surrounded by the forest was always an amazing feeling. After about an hour or so I reached Tenguiwa which provided a pretty nice overlook of the town below as well as the surrounding mountains. Not too far from there was Akobokko, another look out point. The red bridge was particularly striking.

It was strange to see these googly eyes on rocks, perhaps some kids put those there? Even on the summit, they still had these funky rocks surrounding a cute drawn image of Jizo. On the way down, I decided to stop by the Hinata-Wada River Side Garden.

Passing through Tama River again but this time, my mood was worlds apart from this morning. Amazing what a hike can do to you. The gardens had nobody there. It had a lot of interesting sites to see, like an ancient stone pagoda and Jizo once again. I ate my lunch here surrounded by nature.Læs mere
