Cesky Krumlov

A two and a half hour bus ride from Prague, Cesky Krumlov is perhaps one of the main highlights in my visit to the Czech Republic. Recommended by my good friend, Richard, whom I met through Couchsurfing in Alexandria, Egypt. He had just been here recently and suggest I go there instead of Kutna Hora, or Kutenberg which I really wanted to visit thanks to the game Kingdom Come Deliverance. However, I must admit that it was the correct choice. The fairytale town of Czech, perfectly preserved in all its beauty.

It was a treat to explore its winding alleys and admiring the facades of all the small and conglomerated buildings. The town itself could be explored in half a day or so and I tried my best to take things slow as well. Tempted to eat another gummy while I was at it but thankfully I didn't this time around. The main castle, some churches, the river, and shops, I visited everything on my list. I was also surprised to see the castle bears by the moat which was a tradition still being kept alive to this day. Ethically though, I wasn't so sure.

I stopped by a tavern to grab lunch before letting the time pass by inside the local museum. It was pretty awesome to see suits of armor though, just like KCD! I got bored after a while and started to make my way back to the bus station, taking one last look through the lands of Bohemia before I got back to Prague. Out of all things, I ended up getting ramen for dinner which was very mid compared to Japan's but hey it was enough and the walk back to the hostel was quite a peaceful one as well, one where I had plenty of time to introspect and appreciate as I prepared for Norway.Read more
