  • Second day: caves, wind, souvenirs

    August 17, 2018 in Ireland ⋅ 🌧 16 °C

So they told me that in Ireland you should expect everything from the weather. That was true. Today is all about strong wind and light but persistent rain. We have a booked boat for inisheer, the smallest amongst the Aran Island, that is canceled. Mary Jo, our amazing host at seascape b&b of Doolin, drives us at the pier where we can see the cliffs of Moher of the day before covered by fog and waves. Then she moves us to the Doolin Cave. We met 2 German guys that were on the same path of ours also the day before in Moher. We discover that they are basically doing our same trip in the same days and hours. We visit with them and other people of our group the Doolin cave, definitely a suggested spot to visit if you are in Doolin. Only one but majestic Stalactite with a very interesting story behind.
In the afternoon we walk back to the beb with a strong wind that faces us. Gifts shops in Doolin are quite disappointing, not the same for pubs. We have some wonderful beers and then a dinner in a cosy bistrot that serves amazing fish.
