    San Miguel de Allende

    Relaxed morning with coffee and a nice chat with Anke, my Belgian host. The airport bus didn't go to the airport, so I walk back the mile and a half, but hey it was really cheap!

    The app won't let me get a boarding pass, turns out all the Viva computer systems are down and they hand me a hand written boarding pass. Haven't seen one of those since the 1960s, too funny. Of course security didn't know what to do with that and it required several phone calls between officials of the airline and security detail to get me through. Somehow all the other passengers didn't have this issue.

    Life is an adventure! That's what I'm asking for and it delivers.

    Checked into the hostel and went for a walk in the nocturnally luminated old part of the city.    Baca lagi

    A photographic journey

    The city of San Miguel de Allende, a UNESCO heritage site, is full of history and it's a place to ambulate and take in its history and cultural vibe.

    Due to the substantial expats population there are a lot of musicians coming to perform here, there is a piano recital in a church to attend. In the evening music is heard all along the Centro Historico. A drink on one of the rooftop bars is mandatory.Baca lagi

    Countryside by day - City by night

    I somehow always find my way back on two wheels, this time I rented a scooter. First stop Antotonilco for a rural Mexican breakfast at the Parroquia where in 1810 Don Miguel Hidalgo held the first oratory that started the insurgency against the 300 year Spanish rule. By 1823 Mexico became an independent country.

    Rode through a few really nice roads and found a soaking grotto for the afternoon.

    A phenomenal jazz concert in the evening. Women in jazz.    Baca lagi
