    Cotswolds - Chedworth Roman Villa

    We were lucky to be able to visit this Romano-British villa during an active archaeological excavation. Two coins were uncovered the morning we were there. Much has changed with this site since our last visit. The controversial structure protecting the west wing is new with walkways over the mosaic that allows you to get a very good look.Read more

    Chedworth Roman Villa

    We drove from Cheltenham to Chedworth Roman Villa, a national trust excavation site complete with mosaic flooring, saunas, underfloor heating and all sorts of interesting archeological finds. The surprising thing I learned today was that the Roman introduced the Helix Pomatia snail to the area, which was a culinary delicacy - of all the things the Romans introduced I like this one!Read more
