I am surprised how much I like it here my host familiy is just great our class in school is also very nice and we have become pretty good friends. I have also become friends with Finley the son of my host family he is also 17 years old and we have alot in common. We also went to London wich I really liked there were alot of nice stores and we did some shopping. I can now also find my way around colchester almost without google maps wich is very cool. I have also noticed that my English has become way more fluent. In school we have alot of nice teachers and they teach us useful things like some common slang and how they really speak here not just how we learnt in school. I have really enjoyed my time here but I am still excited to go back to switzerland and see my family and friends again.Read more

Before coming to England I was very sceptical because it took away my hollidays but now that ive been here for 4 days I am positively surprised. I really like Colchester, its very different then I expected. It is quite big and has alot of shops and restaurants. My host family is also very nice and they have a son who is my exact age so we get along very well. Our school is pretty old and the rooms are a bit small but the teachers and my class are very nice. We have started to discover the town a bit and ive been to a couple shops and restaurants. I am lookimg forward to spending the next three weeks here but Im still going to be happy when I am back in Switzerland and can see my friends and family again.Read more

First impressions Colchester

I have been in Colchester for 4 days now and I think I have alreday collected so many impressions of this pretty town. We learnt in school today that it is a town and not a city, because it does not have a cathedral, nor has the queen nominated it as a city. Nevertheless, does the town offer a lot and is bigger than I expected. It has a wonderful castle park where we hang out a lot. There are also many good restaurants and pubs. The school is very small and our class has no other exchange studens, so it is hard to meet new people. However I get along well with my friends and I have had a really cool time until now.Read more
