Blue Springs

After quite a few days of doing nothing were headed to Gilchrist Blue Springs which is 2 hours north. I'm looking forward to swimming in the Springs and exploring the many other springs in the area.
Got to the park and was hugely disappointed. The campground's 27 sites are crammed together on uneven, sandy ground. Once again, or lot is on the edge of the road with people walking back and forth from the tenting area to the Springs and bathrooms.
Pepper fell in love with the host's beagle/hound, Aster and I spoke with them a couple of times.
The State of Florida bought the Park four years ago for 5 million dollars. It was privately owned by the Gilchrist family. The park is pretty run down and the State has plans for a huge, much need renovation!
I was pretty sweaty and exhausted from moving and setting up so I went down to the Spring for a dip, but could only get in up to my boobs. Brrrrr!Read more
