Elk Lake Springs

15.3 miles. Got off at Elk Lake Resort due to the PCT closure for the Waldo Lake fire which has been pretty devastating. It was also a huge bummer thinking about having to skip part of the trail since we have lucked out with no closures so far. We tried to hitch a ride around the fire to Shelter Cove for about 2 hours but for the first time, we had no luck. We headed back to the resort where we met our new friends Stubbs and Frisbee who were planning to road walk around the fires. Since Candy and I were the only ones who still had a continuous foot path, we decided to join Stubbs and Frisbee for the 49 mile road walk ahead while the rest of the tram hitched back to Bend then took a bus to Shelter Cove.
