      Stormy Night

      March 15 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

We had quite the storms last night, kept us awake most of it. The thunder and lightning were non ending. Guess that's why we didn't wake up till 8:30. It was a gloomy, drizzly day today. The lake was engulfed in fog and made quite the picture. Notice all the pollen on the water, we have been dealing with it for a few weeks. Can't wait for it to be gone. Took a drive around the lake (part of the lake). It's almost 15,000 acres of lake. It's a beautiful area. Went by the hydro dam built by the COE. Several deer in the campground.Read more

      Hot Springs National Park

      March 17 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

Took a short drive to Hot Springs today. Didn't think about it being St Patrick's Day, the town was pretty busy and we have never seen so much green apparel. People were dressed up giving out beads. We started out at the Hot Springs Mountain Tower, it's 216' tall and 1,256' above sea level - the view was amazing. There are several places in town with water flowing thru them and it is really hot. We strolled down The Grand Promenade then went to Bathhouse Row. The National Park visitor center is housed in the Fordyce Bathhouse and Museum. They have left the original fixtures, some looked like torture chambers. There were 8 Bathhouses but only 2 are operating now. We are going to go try it out, it's supposed to make your aches and pains go away. Stopped at a brewery where they advertised the beer was made with mineral water, it did make us feel good.Read more
