From the Going-to-the-Sun Road we hiked on the Trail of the Cedars. Here, we walked through the Glacier National Park Rainforest, which includes Western Red Cedars, Western Hemlock, and Skunk Cabbage.
Death, rebirth and the immensity of time are visible all along the Trail.
Arriving at Avalanche Lake, we were greeted with an idyllic view of these glacial meltwaters.
A few more pictures from the trail.
In addition to views of the landscape, we also saw Argillite rocks, in shades of red and green.
Several waterfalls and cascades can be seen from the Road.
Views from the road included nearby mountain peaks.
The turnouts were...interesting...but we persevered and pulled off in a number of places to explore.
