Lake Brienz and Geissbach Waterfall

Train ride from Meiringen along the shores of Lake Brienz to take a lake steamer over to Geissbach waterfall. The waterfall comes right down to the edge of the lake, and has a stepped walkway going up the side of the waterfall. At the top the path passes right behind the falls with a view back to the Grand Hotel. A very impressive place to stand with the water coming down in front of you and the cool spray on your face. I walked down the pathway through the woods, and sat at the lakeside for the ferry ride back. Such a lovely spot to take in the scenery and reflect on all the amazing places I've seen in one of my favourite countries.Read more
