Hop on, hop off bus tour of Barcelona

This is a grand old city, you could spend a week or two here, touring around a different areas and enjoying the food.
Vince's PYRENEES TOUR Around the corner, so many scooters and motorcycles in the city, and a lot of parking available for them. For many people, this is their only motive transportation.

Barcelona Day 2

Spent our second day on the Barcelona “on and off bus” touring around the city. We stopped and took a gondola ride up to the top of the mountain overlooking the harbor. We toured the old fort, which dates to the 11th century. Then we stopped at the harbor and walked around and had a light brunch of ice cream. Then we came back to our hotel and went to the IMT bike facility and met up with Ali and looked at our bikes and chatted with him a little bit. Nice bikes, good tires, this is a first class operation. We have a meeting tonight at 6 PM with Ali and Paul to get briefed on the trip. We head out at 0830 tomorrow.Read more

Day 1- Not a great start.

It takes about half an hour to get outside of the city of Barcelona, halfway out of the city one of our riders dropped his bike while stopped at a red light and cut his foot. Now he’s at a hospital getting stitches. We are up at a coffee shop, Santa Gloria. Hanging. And Paulo is fixing Bob’s front tire which was low on air. Life happens. It’s now 1130…... 🙄Read more

9/7/24 Day 1: Barcelona to Costa Brava

128 Miles. We made it to the hotel by 630 ish. We are ON THE Mediterranean Sea! Great roads, we cut the day a little short due to one rider getting injured and needing stitches. Dinner was great and so was the camaraderie with Ali and Paulo, our guides. Final day debrief in room 103 was good too.Read more

Day 2: Costa Brava to La Seu D’Urgell

9/8/24. 157 Miles. Fantastic day. Although rain slowed us down a bit in the am, Riding was fantastic, coffee stop was fantastic, lunch was fantastic, dry afternoon riding was fantastic, hotel in La Sue D’Argell was fantastic, and dinner was fantastic!! One minor mishap, Dave Fisher went down on a wet slick of blacktop, but he was fine and his bike was fine. We stopped for 10 minutes and then got back on the road.Read more

Day 3: ‘Rest Day’ at La Seu D’Argell

9/9/24. 88 Miles. Amazing. Some of us headed out on a twisty ride to Andorra. Some did sight seeing around the town. I took the ride. Good time. Hard getting dinner before 8 pm here but some of us accomplished the feat.Read more

About 200 miles. Today and tomorrow Ali needed to change our ride plans due to two landslides up in France that prevented us from going up there. But the good news is we did it later in the trip! The morning ride was what our scheduled ride was, the afternoon was totally different to get to our destination. we stayed in this box Canyon - it’s an amazing place that used to be the hunting cabin for the king of Spain. Pretty awesome.Read more

Ride to San Sebastián via France today. A little cold and wet until lunchtime, just overcast, but not raining from lunch into San Sebastian. The France ride was very nice. Went to a famous cider brewery for tasting and dinner in San Sebastián. Fantastic place!Read more

Chose not to ride today.

Ali had scheduled a short 2 to 3 hour route outside the city, but rain was forecasted in the morning so we skipped it and decided to tour, especially since the weather was good in the morning. we walked around the harbor, went up the incline and toured a fortress, had lunch on the boardwalk, and some of us walked into old city. I had a nice dinner as a team at the hotel restaurant. Today was Dean Miller’s last workday, he retired, and we gave him a nice present.Read more
