Atherstone bottom lock

We set off towards Atherstone Lock flight knowing it was closed for scheduled repairs. The journey was quite long but enjoyable and we moored with a few other boats near the bottom lock in preparation for it opening.

It was a scenic countryside spot with ploughed fields and misty mornings. Vicky must have caught the flu bug on her train journey back from Newcastle because the symptoms came on while we were staying here.
