    Alice Springs

    Overnight we could hear the Red Centre Nats Burnout Qualifiers being held about 10kms away. It must have been deafening being at the track.
    More washing and shopping on Friday. The rain persisted and we had to finish the drying in one of the machines at the park. We did manage to get up to the Anzac Lookout for a brief glimpse over the city.
    Has anyone wondered where all the planes are that are not flying around because of Covid? Well I can now reveal that a heap of them are being stored at Alice Springs airport. I do remember reading something a while back about airlines storing planes in the desert to preserve them. It was quite a sight seeing them all parked up like that.
    Heading south, a quick stop at a marker on the side of the highway found it commemorated the death of 4 people during the Cannonball Run of 1994.
