Lake Gairdner

Well this was probably, no definitely, our favourite campsite in Tasmania. On the banks of the beautiful Lake Gairdner just 30 minutes or so from Cradle Mountain. The 1½ km drive in (and out) was a little hairy as most of it was winding, steep, single lane gravel road. Glad we didn't come cross any traffic going the opposite direction. The gravel was covered with a fine grey/white dust that blew up everywhere. The van and car were a mess. No sooner had we setup than Faye spotted a platypus in the creek next to us.
