Piazza Colonna

A column carved as propaganda depicting emperor Marcus Aurelius defeating barbarians at the Danube river.

After Rome's fall, the original statue of Marcus atop the column was replaced with a statue of St. Paul who was instrumental in bringing Christianity to Rome.
