After sitting on this steps in the bright sun we decided to begin walking back.Read more

  • Bens Chilli Bowl

    April 23, 2016 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

For dinner we went to this famous Washington DC eatery. It is in a busy part of town so we had trouble finding a parking spot. After cirling for five minutes we found a spot but it had a No Parking Sign, so we drove past but then realized it was only during the weekdays. So calvin backed the van down the street and parked. We were with the New York Guest Host so she did not know what to do when we got to the resteraunt so we just went in. They thought they found are reservation because they had one for 21 people (which was the size of group) but upon checking they said that was for a group called CSE, but thinking the just made a spelling error they sat us. But upon checking with the manager they realized they had missed our reservation. They said since we were already seated we could stay. The other group arrived about ten minutes later and ordered our food. We got sides of chilli fries and then could order a hotdog, hamburger, or half smoke, and then choose our toppings, most of us got chilli. We were going to go to the souvenir shop next door, but ran out of time.Read more

Once we returned to the church we said goodbye to our guest city host who was returning to New York. We then went into the church and found seats in the middle of the sanctuary. Jessica the City Director of CSM joined us for church. Three song leaders sung at the beginning and then we were invited to join in. Next wad the welcoming from a lady who was one of the churchs pastors. She welcomed our group as well as introduced the speaker another pastor, who was speaking because the main pastor was resting. She also held offering, the ushers would dismiss row by row to go arohnd the church and place their money in a pot which the pastor later blesses. She then read the scripture.
