    Lafayette's old part of town.
    We went to a historical village called Vermilionville.One of the old homes in Vermilionville.The homes were very small with large families living in them, so they put the stairs on the outside.How would you like a neighbour sitting with you ,while you do your business.This was the way you crossed a swamp, lake, or river in the past. Very clever !!Allan getting us across the water.Spanish moss hanging from the trees.1The Louisiana fox squirrelLiving history of the Acadian, Native American and Creole cultures. This lady was spinning cotton.After the cotton is spun, it is weaved into fabric.Another interesting fellow in the old school house.The French language was banned in schools. It was a very similar story to how the maori were treatedAnother amazing road bridge on the way to Lafayette.Strawberry salad and prawns for tea. Every meal is huge over here.
