  • First day!

    May 14, 2023 in Canada ⋅ ☀️ 68 °F

We landed in Vancouver and went straight to our B&B. Everyone wanted to try to acclimate to the time change, so we went out to a sushi place that a couple on my last cruise recommended (they were from Vancouver). It was fabulous. Then straight to bed. Off to adventure today!Read more

  • Juneau

    May 18, 2023 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 63 °F

Juneau was beautiful. We had a plan to go up the tram and hike, but there was too much snow. The kids risked about a mile loop in the snow. I sat and enjoyed the beautiful views and so many playing eagles.Read more

  • Skagway

    May 19, 2023 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 64 °F

Skagway was somewhat uneventful for us because the weather left us a little bit. We took the train over the white pass and into the Yukon. Then we took it easy. :). That was followed up by 2 days at sea where we saw whales and a calving ice berg. Dave and I enjoyed it, of course, with all our cruising antics. Marissa got sea sick sadly.Read more

  • Seward and the last cruise day

    May 22, 2023 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 41 °F

Seward was our last cruise day. We had 10 hours to kill. I was very much hoping to see Ella, but alas work and friends kept her away. So we spent the day whale watching in a rainy mist and then catching our dome top train to Anchorage.

We saw humpback whales, sea lions, harbor seals, dall porpoise, a wolverine, eagles, moose and bear. So much wild life!

  • Denali!

May 23, 2023 in the United States

From Anchorage, we made our way to Denali. First stop? Sled dogs! Then Dave and I split from Tyler and Marissa (who is feeling really sick now). We took a 4 mile hike, and once again, Dave has tried to kill me! The backside of the hike was a straight-up and down descend covered in snow. I was wearing tennis shoes!!!!

We saw a bear, moose, caribou, squirrels, ground hog, a marmot, and a ptarmigan .
