White Water

The Whitewater Preserve was recommended to us by the docent at Thousand Palms and we were so thankful that he pointed us in this direction. This was one of our favourite hikes. The clerk at the Visitor Centre advised us that there was a herd of wild cattle in the area so we might encounter "cowboys" that they had hired to round up the cattle. We also saw signs warning of big horn sheep, bear and deer. We saw no cowboys or wildlife, just animal droppings and hoof marks.

We decided on the Canyon View Loop Hike, a 6 km hike with a 500 foot elevation gain and spectacular views of White Water Canyon. The trail was narrow with a steep drop-off.Leia mais
