Laguna Beach

I approached a friendly lady walking her dog to see if there was an alternate route back down to the coast. She offered to drive me back to the beach but I insisted I needed the exercise. She recommended the Skyline Parkway and gave me directions. This route, I later learned from a review of the map, was very circuitous and probably added an extra km or more to my hike.
