• Louisbourg, Cape Breton Island

    We started our day with a visit to the fortress Louisbourg, built by the French in the 1700's and besieged twice by the British. JS was intrigued by the basic, underground toilet. Since it was off-season and all the university students had returned to classes, not all the buildings were open and there were very few employees in period costume. It was probably a good thing because we were in and out in less than 2 hours and were able to head to our next destination, Halifax.Read more
