Palacios Nazaries - Moorish Royal Palace

    January 20, 2018 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 10 °C

The Alhambra included an unfinished palace and the royal gardens but the main attraction is the Palacios Nazarenes. The palace was painted in bright colours as suggested in the Quran....red (blood), blue (heaven), green (oasis), and gold (wealth). There were many inscriptions on the walls, many referring to Allah. There is water everywhere in fountains and ponds as water was the purest symbol of life to the moors. The interior is amazing and I could imagine sultans with hookah pipes lounging on pillows on Persian carpets.Read more
