Gunderbooker National Park

Stopped at Bourke Info Centre for updated information (great place, really helpful, bought my first souvenir) before heading into the park. The roads were great on the way in, well maintained...arrived at Yanda Camp-site 45 mins later. Loads of room for only having six sites and only one other person here. Limited facilities but clean. 41 degrees on arrival and nearly passed out. So hot. Lucky Pete is the best bartender ever and kept me going with cold beer! It's beautiful, the river is flowing fast and there's a bit of a floodplain. Lots of bird activity, have heard some really unusual bird calls. Made fish tacos for dinner and did a trivia - too tired for cards. Nice breeze when we headed to bed at 11:00pm.
Woke up to a bang! Crash! at 12am. The wind had picked up and blown our annexe over. So up we got to sort it out. Won't be lazy next time and will put the ropes on 😬Leer más
