    Found this little gem by accident.
    It's a old gold mine town made famous for its pioneering photography and being the town in the background of the old Aussie $10 note. With dust storms and fires approaching we didn't spend much time here but would like to come back and explore this well preserved town with its quaint shops, cafes and museums.
    My grandfather was stationed here as a police constable as a young man and he and my grandmother lived here and many nearby outback towns. My dad was born later on in the police residence at nearby Narromine.
