Day 263: On the train to Kuqa

At around 2am, all passengers were waken up by the staff. They announced that the train could not move forward as the heavy rain had destroyed the rail ahead of us. So the train was instructed to re-route back to Kashgar! (What the…) Our train traveled 9 hours for nothing and we were just 5 hours train ride away from our destination Kuqa!! All passengers had to choose between 1) going back to Kashgar or 2) get off at the nearest station (1.5 hours away). We did not know how to move forward as we were not familiar with the geography of China.
