Day 296: Tiantong Temple

We discovered this hidden gem in Ningbo. It is a one of the five sacred Chinese Chan (JAPANESE: Zen) Buddhist temples. It is founded by the monk Yixing in the year 300. It is also the cradle of the Soto School of Japanese Buddhism.

No tour group came here but it was definitely a peaceful place to walk around. Even though the weather was not good, we did spend whole day walking around the area.Read more
