    Saying Goodbye to Alex Heads

    February 24, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 75 °F

Sadly, it was finally time to pack up and leave Alex Beach Cabins. The kids made toasties for brekky (toasted sandwiches) along with cereal, fruit, and yogurt. We also had a special treat, Fairy Bread. When you see the pictures, it is exactly what it looks like. Buttered toast with sugar sprinkles. A traditional snack at Australian children’s parties.

I also promised you an interior shot of a cabin after it was clean. The pics are a shot of where Mrs. Bates and I stayed. It was slightly larger than the the kids. Most of the kids cabins had single bunk beds for them. I meant to get a shot of theirs as well, but in the midst of helping them clean up, pack, and sweep for lost items, it slipped my mind.

We are now on a 90-min to 2-hour journey back to Brisbane. Our bus and trailer had electronic problems, the trailer break lights and turn signals were not working. Not good when driving in the city. So, we had to stop by the rental company and swap the bus and trailer.

The kids were great! No complaints. Everyone pitched in to move our gear and we were off straight away! Every day this group impresses me. 🙂
