    Valletta by night

    October 23, 2022 in Malta ⋅ 🌙 22 °C

After some time in pools and in a marial sanctuary, we took the bus to Valetta to.end up that true vacation Sunday.
We arrived at night fall and wandered the streets when we arrived in front of a memorial dedicated to Daphne Caruana, near the St John's co-cathedral. This gave us the occasion to have a look into Malta's most recent history, as Daphne Caruana was a journalist who investigated some corruption topics, and who was killed in her car bombing in 2017. Her killers have just been sentenced to 40 years in prison, but the true accountable people (among which politicians).still remain to be judged...
On a lighter note, we also went by a bar where a singer was performing, and we stopped by to have a drink, and listen.
And then we rushed to catch our bus, the last direct one to our hotel. The driver was also probably willing to get back home earlier, as he brought us to our stop 12mn quicker than what the timetable plans... I do not want to be a pedestrian in the cities where Maltese buses drive, this is definitely a risky business 🥴
