Now the tourist route to the middle of Sweden!

Wild camping at Holmen

Yesterday afternoon we visited Koenigsegg. Unfortunately the reception was closed so we drove further. Found a nice spot to camp. Theo decided to have a swim!

Lofoten

Woke up at 5.00 to catch the boat from Bodø to Moskenes. What a magnificent bunch of islands. Lofoten, you stole a piece of our heart. It was wonderful to see eachother enjoy the views, have a small walk around on of the beautiful towns and see the other teams at the first get-together. Had a bit of a climb (Joost) and a bit of wine (Theo). Going to bed soon, because tomorrow, we make our way to Tromsø. Many kilometers and all of them in good companionship with stunning views!Read more

North cape reached!!

After just over 4000 kilometers, we reached the North Cape. A very weird place to be, many cyclists on the way here, many people who just take a photo and leave and a lot of tourist busses come and go. We arrived early, which gave us time to walk around and sit somewhere which is not the inside of a car. Tomorrow (in 7 hours) the alarm clock will go off. The city where Santa Claus lives. Ate some reindeer, excusez-nous Santa, had some more picnics on the way here. Taking our time to drive to our next big city to explore: Helsinki!!

Finland: one big forest! At the moment waiting in line to board the boat to Tallinn so we made some nice omelets in the back of our car! And the sun went down!!! For the first time in 6 days, we had a dark night. So nice ;)Read more

Doing the Baltics

Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Beautiful countries to explore. Tallinn is such a wonderful place I (Joost) will definitely visit again (soon!)!! On the way from Tallinn, we came across a small car museum with lots of Moscovitch and Lada cars in them. Never seen this many of them together. Very interesting to read that some special cars with hand controlled brakes and throttle, specificaly built for disabled people, were handed out by the government. 10 points to Communism! Camped in the wild, had some sushi (with cream cheese...) and a Corona. Now going to bed in a hotel in Vilnius. Treated ourselves with a big room, jacuzzi and going for dinner. Cocktails were amazingly cheap! Tomorrow: breakfast at 9-ish and on the road again to Gdansk, Poland.Read more

Poland, you magnificent beast. Had a minor issue with the car driving through a rainstorm, resulting in flooded streets with puddles of 20 cms. Something broke of underneath the car: fixed it woth a hot screwdriver to punch holes, tiewrapped it and went on our merry way. Although we drove many highway kilometers, we have seen a lot of the beauty of Poland. Witnessed a mighty sunset in the town of Stegna. Ran an hour on the beach there. Had some lunch in a town we cannot remember the name of. Gdansk is a truly wonderful city, both buildings and ice-cream. On the last full day of the Baltic Sea Circle. What a blast!Read more

The trip has ended

The great trip has ended. When leaving Gdansk it was just the job to be home, lots of kilometers. And we did it. From Gdansk we made another 500km and camped about 50 k from Berlin. The final stage to Groningen where we arrived at about 15 pm,. We are happy we finished the trip whithout any big problems. A big experience, beautiful countries, nice codriver, great group of other drivers, lovely car. Now back to bussiness.
