Day after the wedding

Wake At 7am to pack items don’t need for India to give to Ads and Luke, 8am brekky. M on time, Z late. M brings ChaYen to room for Z. Give A&L stuff to bring back to Perth and say goodbye (heading home), then bye to Andrew Carter (going to Phuket then home w friends). Shuttle into town w L&S, Rex &Rhea, Rey, JC, Syd, Todd. JC w S&T, goodbye to R&R as left Pai in afternoon. Rey w M&Z to book R’s transport back to Pai tmrw at 4:30am w. Boy (has new baby Nitan) 2000THB. R tells Boy he “is boy too”. L&S explore. M, Z & R eat at cheap restaurant near bamboo bridge : Khao soi x3 + coke for 170 THB! M,Z, &R walk to Pai Country Hut to book 1 night for tmrw. R like PCH - says perfect grounds for chicken. Z&M find back massage, Rey find way back to shuttle and heads to RS. Z&M walk back to RS, Z floats back after massage.T, S, & JC in pool (1.5hr). Z&M join, then Lisa and Steve join. Korean tourist sits very close to Lisa. Rejoin L&S, T&S, and JC at RS restobar first drinks before dinner. Shuttle to night markets w L, Steve, T, Syd, JC, Rey, Anne, Regan. Lose L&S soon after off shuttle. See & say hello to Colin, Gail, Heather & Keith sat at restobar, quick goodbye and walk further w group. See W,L &. J, S&T head back to RS early. W&L find C,G, H & K to join, A&R stay w them also. MZ eat w Rey at vendor: Khao soi - R&M prefer lunch Khao Soi. Back to RS and bed.Okumaya devam et

Day Before the Wedding

Brekky at 8am with Ads, Luke, Rex, Rhea, Rey, David (Tom resting), & Heather and Keith who arrived late last night. M&Z practice walking down aisle w music, M drops phone and cracks screen. M&Z write thank you speeches, print vows and finalise seating arrangements for ceremony and first dance song with Ben. M&Z head into town to get phone fixed (2000THB) ready in 2 hrs (1pm). M heads back to RS to welcome guests arriving today. Z drops off laundry at Blue House (35THB/Kg, ready at 5pm). Z gets legs waxed..the traditional way. Pick up fixed phone and head back to RS. Pick up laundry tmrw - lunch at RS to welcome guests arriving including Lisa and Steve. Meet and greet dinner - RS surprised us by setting up long table! Anne and Regan arrive soon after meet andgreet starts also. Andrew, Syd & Todd arrive near the end of dinner, just before Z's surprise hens/bachelorette.

Z's hens: Walked into JC and Andrew's room to a surprise where they had balloons, a "bride to be" sash and veil waiting. Headed out into walking Street with JC, Andrew, Syd, Todd, Claire, Gail, Ads, Christine, Lisa to complete a series of dares within 2 mins - Z completes first = everyone drinks, group completes first = Z drinks. Eg. Z to get a photo w shirtless man, Group to get Z free drinks (Gail got Z 2 free shots)!Okumaya devam et

First Full Day in Pai and Reverie Siam

Breakfast at 0800h w Ads and Luke at Reverie Siam Resort. Rex & Rhea jet lagged. M&Z meet with Ben at 1000h to walk through venue and go through final wedding planning details. Rex & Rhea meet us M&Z, A&L take shuttle into walking street for lunch!! Shuttle back to Reverie Siam and wait for Claire and Alex who came for a pool visit. Pool time for Ads, Luke, M&Z, Claire and Alex, nap time for R&R. Drinks at RS restaurant and Rey arrives at resort! Hugs for Rey and Pao Pao shows him around and to his room. Rey claims “his pool”, Rey waves hello to white Buddha, Pao Pao asks Rey if he misses durian from the Philippines and tells him he can’t have as soon as he replied yes 😂. Let Rey get settled then head out to walking Street with group to meet Will, Lucy, Jocelyn (arrived in town W Rey on same flight), Colin and Gail for dinner at Blue Ox. Dessert on walking Street - shared mango sticky rice with crew, then shuttle back to RS for bed. David & Tom had delayed flight so arrived at resort just past midnight. Woke up on train in forest. Ads, Luke and Alex walked through all cabs and found restaurant on train. Uncle Luke became “I spy” master competitor. Had coffees and baked goods from night before at train restaurant and enjoyed views. Staff thought Z was Thai and gave lonsones fruit to share. Everyone tried the fruit and enjoyed. Went back for round 2 coffees at restaurant near end of journey to CM and enjoyed views. Taught Alex to ask for baht every time someone touched his face or hair. Arrived in CM, took songtheaw (20THB pp) to CM arcade bus station to meet Claire, Gail, Will & Lucy. Will organised minibus to Pai, Z&M, A&L find lunch takeaway. Got on bus, M&Z give C&G half of lunch. Very good driver on windy roads. Halfway point stopover with mini market. Ads and Z buy snacks, M&Z buy cha yen. Got back on road, no one got sick. Arrive in Pai, said goodbye to Will and Lucy, Claire, Alex, Colin & Gail. Caught shuttle to Reverie Siam resort w Ads and Luke, met Pao Pao and Ben and checked in. Beautiful resort..way better than the website photos! Showered and met at bar for drinks. Rex & Rhea arrive, hugs and let PaoPao show them to their room. R&R stay at resort to get settled, took shuttle to walking street for dinner with A&L. Shuttle back home and sleep -brekky at 8am tmrw.Okumaya devam et

Bangkok with Family

Early morning wake up, M&Z find out Colin and Gail had already gone for a stroll in Chinatown and had tea from an alleyway vendor. Left Airbnb with Claire, Alex, Colin & Gail to get breakfast. Planned to take family to Chinatown market stalls for brekky (where M&Z ate dinner yesterday) but found out stalls don't open on Mondays. Decided to try Khao San Road - Z designated to hail tuktuks to negotiate cheaper pricing. 3 Tuktuks: M & Colin, Claire & Gail, Alex & Z. First tuktuk ride for C&A, C&G: Colin loved it and Alex was very quiet, taking in the sensory overload. Got to Khao San Road and market stalls were also closed! Only shops open were westernised restaurants. Had breakfast there and Colin ate M's breakfast and Gail, Zinia's. Tuktuks to go back into town and met up with Ads and Luke at Pupe's Airbnb. Said goodbye to Claire and Gail who would fly to Chiang Mai. Walked towards Chinatown and went to alleyway vendor (by water refill station) to get iced coffee. Asked for "ooley-yen" not knowing it had syrup and asked for condensed milk also...very sweet! Walked to train station to take subway to Lumphini park to see komodo dragon. Local festival held at Lumphini park this day - Alex ordered his own smoothie, saw komodo dragons. Subway back to Chinatown for lunch. Ate and had beers at Michelin star restaurant again. Amazing rolled noodle soup! Tuktuks to Khao San Road. This time markets were open. Walked around, Ads, Z and Alex got foot massages, Colin and M Thai massage. Alex fell asleep during massage. Grabbed baked goods at bakery on Khao San, then tuktuks back to Chinatown for dinner. Picked up bags then train station to catch overnight train to Chiang Mai. Got on train, fancy second class beds with aircon, was in same cab as staff. Alex loved having his own private bed.Okumaya devam et

First Full Day in Bangkok

Got a latte yen from street vendor with mini helper in morning. Walked to Hua Lamphong to purchase 6 tix for overnight train to Chiang Mai tomorrow. Lucky to get tickets - only 8 second class tickets left!! Walked through Chinatown to find breakfast. End up eating our first Michelin Star meal for breakfast ($6 AUD). Sat with two lovely girls who taught us how to count to 10 in Thai (so handy!). Walked to Hua Lamphong to take the subway to Chatuchak Markets..what a huge market! Planned to go to floating markets and a Muai Thai fight today but had to cut away this time. Caught train back to town, took tuk tuk to go to Khao San Road, found alleyway shortcut to parallel street where we had drinks for wifi to contact Claire, then had massaman chicken dinner at vendor on Khao San Road. Tuktuk back to Airbnb and waited for Colin, Gail, Claire and Alex’s arrival with Pupe. Sat with Pupe and her friends. Group arrived - M&Z and Pupe show them to guesthouse and say goodnight. Didn’t see Adeline and Luke tonight. Flight was delayed - They are arriving early morning tomorrow (4am).Okumaya devam et

Flying Into Bangkok

Meet Will, Lucy, Lisa & Steve at Perth Airport. Steve spots Thirsty Merc, got group photo with him. Arrived at BKK & say goodbye to group. Lisa and Steve taxi to Pattaya, Will and Lucy fly straight to Chiang Mai. M&Z take the subway to Hua Lamphong from airport and walk to Pupe’s Airbnb. M&Z walk to Chinatown markets for dinner. Get our first mango sticky rice of the trip from our favourite vendor on the walk home.. 100THB size of course, not 60THB. Back to Airbnb.Okumaya devam et
