Off to Bowen

We left Townsville this morning, unsure exactly where we would end up tonight. We made our way south on the Bruce Highway through Ayr and Home Hill and on to Bowen, two hours south, where we decided we would stay the night.

We pulled in to the marina to make some sandwiches for lunch (with a view!). Then we checked out a nearby caravan park and explored some of the more remote and pretty beaches on the other side of the headland.

Mid afternoon we headed to the caravan park we had selected and pulled in to an extra long site (with a sea view!) so we didn’t have to unhitch the caravan from the car.

Gadi went for a swim and later I also swam in the large
swimming pool, feeling refreshed and cooler. In the evening I pan fried locally bought salmon mackerel for dinner with microwaved potatoes and a salad.
