    Bye bye Brooklyn

    June 5, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

We got up and used the shared bathroom one last time. We wandered out to find some street art which luckily wasn’t far from the apartment. After stopping for some breakfast (yep another bagel) we got on the subway and headed into manhattan for the last time. Since it wasn’t far from the beginning of Brooklyn Bridge we detoured to the 9/11 memorial which was heaving but still really peaceful. Annoyingly it was the hottest day of our trip and the only day we’d have to lug our rucksacks around. It turns out Phil REALLY doesn’t like the heat which was tough as he was stuck on a mile long bridge (with me being unsympathetic) when we finally got off the bridge and found some shade he perked right up. We enjoyed the view of Manhattan whilst figuring out what we were going to do for the next few hours, settling on eating and drinking which made us both happy. After lunch we wandered to Dumbo and found an indoor food hall where we stopped for a pint (of Brooklyn lager obvs) before getting the subway for the last time to the airportRead more
