• Some tourist activities 💍

    Nov 23–25, 2023 in Indonesia ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

We loved our villa so much that we extended our stay by another week - and decided to just use it as a base to do excursions from. Bali isn’t that big so within 2 hours we could for instance go to Ubud - the famous touristy village town with monkeys and rice fields. After seeing the rice fields of Vietnam without anyone around and jungle hikes in Thailand basically alone - we weren’t the biggest fans of how overrun with tourism Bali appeared. The culture and people and food really stole our hearts - but the terrible and risky traffic and disparity between the Instagram tourist Bali and reality for a lot of people just left a bitter taste.

Still there were a couple things on the bucket list for Charly, mainly making our own rings with the help of a smith. It was a pretty long process but we really enjoyed that we were part in all of the steps - with some help in molding the designs - especially the leaf part. It makes you appreciate the art and work that goes into this craft. They made for perfect souvenirs. :)
And Charly got her Instagram worthy swing pictures- but for much cheaper than where most people go.

-And of course we enjoyed plenty of food with great vegan options. Just don’t look at the scale 😅
