Hammerfest

Today was relaxing. The first pics are a small fishing village. We didn’t even get off the boat. The one port to get off at is Hammerfest. It is the northern most city on earth. There is another place that claims to be, but it is just a village. Hammerfest is a good sized town. There is a natural gas plant that has a burning chimney that is kind of a city landmark. They have a small, but nicely appointed mall and several churches, one of which we went to see. Achmed, from our post a couple days ago is an Electrical Engineer who works there. He has 3 jobs that he works to support his family in Syria. Tonight we are going to a midnight concert in Tromso. Edward Grieg is a Norwegian composer, so I am sure we will hear some of his music.
