• Day 38 - Hola Spain!

    October 12, 2024 in Spain ⋅ ☁️ 13 °C

We woke up quite early this morning, wanting to make an early start as we had a lot to do today.
From the van could see a beautiful pink sky so I wandered off to see if I could see the beginning of the sunrise and it was absolutely beautiful!

After breakfast we made our way to the closest petrol station to top up on LPG before we go into a Spain (we don’t have the right adapter to top up in Spain 🤦‍♀️). Then onto the supermarket where Charlie went in for some essentials - including a giant babybel! While he was in there, I walked Marla over to the Maxizoo (pet shop) for a mooch. We picked up another bag of Edgard Cooper dog food, some treats and a sandfly repellent collar. We then all popped over to the closest DIY shop where Charlie picked up some springs. We are going to have a go at some van repairs tomorrow, I’ll explain more if it’s successful.

By now it was 11am and we needed to get a wiggle on, we had a new country to explore!

The drive was relatively straightforward, a lot of motorway and dual carriageway - until the last 13km and we turned onto wiggly mountain roads (again!). Not going to lie - it was a bit stressful as there was a lot of traffic coming towards us and the road was pretty narrow, with the drop immediately to my right….

We arrived at the camp at mid afternoon, the place is quite busy. It turns out it’s National Day of Spain and a bank holiday.
The site is quite pretty, it looks onto a massive mountain called Pedraforca which is quite stunning.

A quiet night in for us tonight and hopefully we will be able to go for an explore tomorrow in the mountains and woods!
