• Day 47 - Tordesillas

    21. oktober 2024, Spanien ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

This morning we decided to do our own things. I wanted to explore the town and we knew Marla wouldn’t appreciate walking around town so Charlie took Marla for a run.

It was a very misty morning which made the town look eerie. It’s a very historic town, which has had a lot of modern buildings built up around the old.
I bought some goodies for lunch while having my wander round.

When I got back to camp, Charlie and Marla had been back a little while, they had covered 9km in 50 minutes. Poor Marla wouldn’t have known what was going on 😂

Lunch was tasty fresh bread from town and I braved the vegetarian ’meat’ with pickles - it was interesting…. Not unpleasant but I wouldn’t buy it again. Dessert was what looked like a chocolate sausage roll - it was absolutely delicious.

This afternoon it was nice and sunny so we took advance of this and sat outside. I got a lot of crochet done! I’ve finished the main blanket now, but there’s still a lot to do. Pictures will follow when I’ve finished.

We had a surprise guest in the van this afternoon - a little sparrow had hopped on in. It scared the life out of me when I came into the van. It seemed to be stuck around the drivers area, so I went round to open the door but as soon as I left the van it flew out. Little bugger left us a small present on the kitchen worktop 🤦‍♀️🤣

We had an afternoon walk from site, there are many sandy paths to explore with lots of pine trees and the biggest pine cones I’ve ever seen!

Dinner tonight was a simple fare of chips, sweetcorn and vegetarian escalopes.

Two more episodes of Silent Witness - just a final two to go!!
